The Organising Committee would like to invite delegates to submit contributions that fall within the theme of the conference, for either oral or poster presentation.

The scientific programme will include a number of oral presentations selected from submitted abstracts, as well as poster presentations. We would particularly welcome the participation of students and offer them reduced conference registration fees.
ABSTRACTS
Abstract deadline: 15 December 2022
Extended abstracts of one A4 page in English must be prepared using the template and must be submitted in MS-Word (not PDF) format. Please use the 'Call for Abstracts' menu option to submit your abstract.
Abstracts will be reviewed by the Programme Committee and authors will be notified whether their papers have been accepted for oral or poster presentations by 20 January 2023.
PROCEEDINGS
Selected papers will published in in a Special Issue of Physica B. Submitted papers will be peer-reviewed according to the journal standards. See the following Guide for Authors for details on the submission process. To be considered for the Special Issue instead of a normal journal article, make sure to select the ARTICLE TYPE as VSI: "Photonic Materials".
Submission portal should open on 26 April 2023. It is suggested to wait until just after the conference to submit your paper.
Manuscript submission deadline: extended to 17 June 2023.
IMPORTANT:
- No presentation (either oral or poster) will be included in the conference programme if we have not received full payment for registration and accommodation for the presenting author by 28 February 2023.
- No paper will be included in the Proceedings if it was not presented at the 9th SACPM 2023 conference, either as an oral or poster presentation.
GUIDELINES FOR PRESENTATIONS
Oral presentations: A computer, data projector, screen and flip chart will be available for oral presentations. MS Office (Powerpoint) and Adobe Acrobat running under MS Windows 10 will be available on the computer. Speakers should bring a copy of the presentation with them on USB Flash Drive and are requested to load their presentations onto the computer in the break before their presentation. Speakers are requested to adhere strictly to the prescribed time limits for their presentations (please check the programme) and should allow 5 minutes for questions within those limits.
Posters: All posters have to be mounted on the poster boards supplied by 12:00 on Tuesday 9 May 2023. The dimensions should be kept within the prescribed format of A0 (maximum), portrait orientation. Self-adhesive Velcro strips will be supplied to fix the poster to the board; no pins are allowed.
