Elementary particles and their interaction are successfully described by the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. Nuclear beta decays allows for low-energy tests of the SM to probe for new physics.

In this talk I shall describe the analysis of data from an experiment performed at TRIUMF, (Canada's National Laboratory for Particle and Nuclear Physics) to measure the ft -value of 19Ne β -decay and its implications for tests of the Standard Model.
