Description

Abstract The activity of planetary waves and variability of tides in the mesosphere/lower thermosphere (MLT) region was studies using the mesospheric wind velocity. Planetary wave activity observed at the MLT region are the result of upward propagating wave which are excited from the lower region of the atmosphere and sometimes are resulting from tidal modulation at planetary wave. Tidal modulation was investigated as the possible candidate for the planetary wave features in the MLT region.
