Date: Monday 3rd July 2023
Venue: University of Zululand
Summary: The DSI recently launched South Africa’s Quantum Technology Initiative (SA QuTI), with a focus on strategically driving quantum science towards quantum technologies. In parallel, South Africa is a sponsor of the UNESCO bid for 2025 to be declared the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, while in 2022 the Nobel prizes in Physics were awarded to quantum science and technology. This winter school will introduce the audience to a range of quantum technologies, with particular emphasis on SA QuTI research themes and the opportunities to engage in this exciting field.
