*CALL FOR ABSTRACTS*
The SAIP2022 conference will be completely virtual. In order to maximize virtual engagement, minimize any potential connectivity issues, and optimize the virtual conference environment, the LOC has decided to use the following conference formats:
Oral sessions:
The Zoom platform will be used for oral sessions. Oral presentations will be allocated 15 minutes (12 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for discussion and/or questions). We will make use of 12 minutes of pre-recorded videos combined with a live 3 minute Q&A session. Oral presenters should upload, by 17 June 2022, a video of their presentation on the indico system. Details regarding the upload process will follow in due course.
Poster sessions:
In order to provide an engaging and interactive virtual poster session for SAIP 2022, the LOC has decided to make use of the Gather platform for the poster sessions. In addition, we have decided to set aside a full day for the poster sessions to maximize engagement. We will request that the poster presenter upload, by 17 June 2022, a high-resolution pdf file of their poster on the Indico system. The submission of a short video summary, for poster presenters, is therefore not a requirement anymore. Details regarding the upload process will follow in due course.

Abstract submission will close on 22 April 2022, and acceptance notifications will be sent out on the 30th of May 2022. Registration for the conference will close on the 21st of June 2022. Participants that have not registered by that deadline will, unfortunately, have their abstracts removed from the conference system, and will lose the opportunity to submit a conference proceeding.
*CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS *
The SAIP 2022 will also publish conference proceedings. The proceedings of the SAIP 2022 conference will be peer-reviewed and produced in accordance with the DHET guidelines for recognition at the level of 0.5 units per article. Only papers that are submitted strictly on or before 23:59 SAST on 30 August 2022 will be considered for publication. The guidelines for authors, the application procedure for recognition of your article, and other details relating to the proceedings will be available on the conference website.
