IMGRAD2021
“IMAGING WITH RADIATION” : 4th South African Biennial Conference

IMPORTANT DATES:

ABSTRACTS OPEN: From 7 June 2021 -  15 July 2021
REGISTRATION: From 7 June 2021 -  2 August 2021

Notification of Abstract/Poster: 22 July 2021
Full Program: 29 July 2021

We are delighted to announce that the 4th Imaging with Radiation conference (IMGRAD-4) is going to take place this year. This is a biennial conference that was previously hosted by Necsa (2013), Stellenbosch University (2015), and Wits University (2017). However, due to COVID-19 regulations the conference will be held virtual on the 4th and 5th of August 2021. It is scheduled through a combined effort of Necsa, Wits and the Stellenbosch University instrument scientist responsible for the X-ray computed tomography systems. The 3 systems were sponsored by the DST-NRF and came into operation in July 2011.

The organisers aim is to bring the researchers and post graduate students together to showcase the output generated by these facilities. Most importantly is to build new collaborative networks, share information and strengthen the existing relationships between national research partners in radiography and tomography that are using X-rays, gamma-rays and neutrons.

FORMAT:
2 DAY VIRTUAL CONFERENCE (Unlimited attendance)

We look forward to your active participation from 4th to 5th August 2021 through oral  presentations on your work with using penetrating radiation (X-rays, neutrons and gamma–rays) applications in imaging (radiography and tomography).

PUBLICATION IN SA J. of SCIENCE:
The opportunity to publish peer-reviewed papers in the South African Journal of Science through attending and participating in IMGRAD-4 is also recommended – your option to do so can be made during the ABSTRACT submission stage.

SPONSORSHIPS:
If you or your company are interested in any of the options for sponsorship, please contact the CHAIRMAN directly.
