 the African Light Source (AfLS)\, the African Physical Society (AfPS)\, an
 d co-convened with several other Pan African professional science societie
 s.  We hope that you will join us as we communicate and celebrate  Big Sc
 ience and Big Goals for Africa!\n\nAdvanced light sources support multiple
  disciplines. We have a vision to establish an advanced light source on t
 he African continent. \n\n \n\nProgramme Outline\n\nThe meeting program w

 ion in the Detectors Tutorial requires an additional (free) registration.\
 n\nThe format of this exciting online meeting will allow attendees to take
  full advantage of the overlap between the different participating organiz
 ations. All registrants will be able to attend sessions in any track with 
 a single registration.\n\nContributed oral presentations and posters are w
 elcome. Please identify the track of your participation at the registrat
 ion and abstract submission phases. \n\nThe programme details\, as they a
 re updated\, are available in the Timetable link on the left-hand menu.\n\
 nDetectors Tutorial\n\nIt is our pleasure to announce the first African Li
 ght Source Detectors Tutorial\, which will be held in the afternoon of Tue
 sday\, 18 November 2025\, 12-17h30 GMT+2  in conjunction with the joint A
 frican Light Source / African Physical Society conference. \n\nThis half-d
 ay tutorial will give synchrotron users as well as beamline staff an intro
 duction in the technology involved in detectors components and systems. Th
 e lectures will be given by senior experts from leading European detectors
  groups\, but will be at a level that can be followed by non-experts.\n\nP
 lease register for the tutorial here\, but be sure to register for the mai
 n conference as well.\n\n\nParticipation\n\nThe Joint Organizing Committee
  of this meeting observes the basic policy of non-discrimination and affir
 ms the right and freedom of scientists to associate in international scien
 tific activity without regard to factors such as ethnic origin\, religion\
 , citizenship\, language\, political stance\, gender\, sex or age\, in acc
 ordance with the Statutes of the International Council for Science.\n\nNo 
 barriers\, which would prevent the participation of bona fide scientists\,
