Host Country South Africa

South Africa achieved democracy in 1994. The government and national institutions have a strong emphasis on Human Capital Development, and encourage study of mathematics and science in schools, tertiary education, the acquisition of higher degrees, and redress of gender and racial imbalances. Much remains to be done. The hosting of major international science conferences is an indispensable step in the practical implementation and strengthening of efforts to improve the level of Science, Engineering and Mathematics education and research in the country.

Host City, Pretoria

The administrative capital of South Africa, Pretoria, or the 'Jacaranda City', is best known for its annual display of purple flowers in October. Located in the northern part of Gauteng, Pretoria is also known as Tshwane, named after thelocal Tswana/Ndebele Chief Tshwane.

Pretoria is home to academic institutions such as University of Pretoria, University of South Africa and national research facilities such as Council for Scientific and Industrial Research – the CSIR.

Pretoria is 60 km from Africa’s main international airport,OR Tambo International Airport, also known as Johannesburg International Airport.

In selecting a conference venue in the Pretoria, we have considered flexible conference facilities, easy access, safety, and the availability of a range of accommodation.
