Description

Over a period of 11 years of solar cycle 23 : 1996-2006, the solar sources of 219 geomagnetic storms have been investigated . This investigation focused on a class of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) known as halo CMEs and they subsequent geo-effective conditions in the interplanetary medium. In this paper, we present the results of a statistical analysis of geomagnetic storms solar sources in terms of full halo and partial halo CMEs.
