Abstract

A simple prescription for selecting the cluster and core in a binary cluster model prescription of a nucleus is presented. The main aim of using this method is to determine and calculate results concerning the occurrence of exotic clustering in actinide nuclei. A previously published prescription of the core-cluster interaction is then used along with a local potential model to calculate the energy levels, B(E<sub>2</sub>;2<sup>+</sup>→02<sup>+</sup>) and decay widths.
